Error messages let our users know when a problem occurs.

Text field errors

Here are some common error messages for some of our most used text fields, as well as some error copy that applies to most of our text fields.

These errors can apply to almost all text fields depending on the requirements of your flow.

Replace {{label}} for that text field’s label (e.g. first name, phone, email, etc.)

These errors apply to only specific text fields, as they are related to that label.

Depending on the error and when it surfaces, errors may appear as an alert, a dialog, or a toast instead of underneath a text field.

These errors will usually appear as in-line alerts or page-level alerts.

Note that these errors can’t be used for authentication flows for security reasons (we can’t surface if something is an existing account or not during authentication flows)
